In the book of Hebrews we open with Jewish people being addressed. They have all heard the good news. They have tasted it. But most of them still choose to run back to the temple for forgiveness of sin. The only sin addressed in the first 10 chapters is inward sin. The sin of unbelief. Be carful not to miss that, or you’ll get a totally inaccurate understanding of this letter.

If we realize that there’s not a single mention of outward sin, we can realize that the writer is giving the Jews a logical reason to abandon the law and grab on to the only sacrifice acceptable for sin. Jesus.

“So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:19

The only thing that can ever keep you from God is the sin of unbelief. All other sins are forgivable. All of them. So, today if you hear His voice, don’t harden your hearts in unbelief.
