Let Jesus be Your GPS!
I have a business that’s been pretty successful against all odds.
Recently we expanded into some new territory.
I really felt like God was opening doors.
After getting knee-deep into it, I had a Christian friend who is an honorable businessman (and very wealthy) buy into the program. Moreover, this friend knows many successful business owners who he would refer to us if he gets good results.
Many of our new smaller clients are doing very well, but…….this client (my friend) is seeing horrible results. We honestly don’t know why.
At first, I was discouraged. But then I realized, I trust God even if this falls apart. If God is with me, who can be against me?
Then it hit me.
God is pretty good about not letting humans take credit for his works. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Remember Joseph? Thrown into a pit by his brothers. Sold as a slave. Jailed. God made sure the world would know it was Him who against all odds, can do anything.
I honestly would not put it past God to do whatever was necessary to make sure that I see Him, and only Him, as the reason my business was successful. My friend’s lack of success in this campaign would eliminate all the huge referrals we could deliver.
At this point, I don’t know God’s plan. And my trust in Him will not be shaken even if it all fell apart tomorrow.
Maybe my friend will get the results we hoped he’d have. But I am reminded that regardless of any referrals my friend may send us, it’s still God alone who is in control. My friend has zero ability to make me successful without God’s hand in it.
When you know God is in control, you won’t worry as much. Trust Him. He loves you. And don’t freak out when all seems hopeless. Be patient.
Yes, I’m driving the car. But God is my GPS and I don’t know where I’m going without Him. In fact, I’d be lost without Him.
God may not take you on the route you want, but He will get you to the right place, at the right time.
Let Jesus be your GPS.

Author: Mike Cynar
Mike Cynar was raised in a church setting where he frequently noticed that many attendees would eventually drift away. The church labeled these individuals as ‘back sliders’ or ‘fake Christians’ just looking for ‘fire insurance’. However, Mike realized the issue was rarely with these individuals but instead with the church’s message itself. The teachings heavily emphasized behavior improvement and one’s flaws, with only a fleeting mention of one’s identity in Christ. It felt as though every sermon was tailored to the church of Corinth, who as we know or committing sins that even unbelievers don’t partake in. This trend was noticeable not just in one denomination, but across Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, and many other churches. Upon understanding the true essence of the gospel – that our righteousness comes from Jesus’ actions, not our own – Mike was inspired to liberate believers from lifeless sermons and reconnect them with the genuine teachings of Jesus. He believes that one can nurture a vibrant and growing bond with Jesus, unhindered by rigid religious practices. And thus, “Jesus Without Religion” was born.
It turns out that it is grace that leads to repentance. And if our heart is to get others to walk in the Spirit and live a godly life, then the best approach is not a beat down sermon, but rather to remind other that it is only when we understand our true identity in Christ that we will live it out. Yes, it’s true, if you’re convinced that God thinks you’re a dirty sinner, you will ultimately continue a lifestyle that mirrors that view, but if you truly believe that even on your worst day, you are called holy, sanctified, justified, and will be presented blameless in the end, well, it turns out this is the secret to living out on the outside what has been worked in to the inside.
